Service Dress Blue, Bravo

The Service Dress Blue is the official uniform of the day for the Auxiliary. It is suitable for all situations except for operations and vessel exams. The Coast Guard encourages the Auxiliary to wear this uniform whenever possible, especially when interfacing with the public. The expense of the jacket limits the number of people who have it, but most members should own this uniform once they are elected to flotilla office and expected to attend both division and flotilla changes of watch. Since our local changes of watch are lunches, the Service Dress Blue is appropriate. The jacket can be hard to fit properly, but it can be tailored. It is recommended that members try on the jacket at the Uniform Distribution Center if possible. Larger members should avoid the athletic cut as it provides a smaller waist.
